This EYFS curriculum provides a nurturing, communication-rich and highly engaging foundation that supports all pupils to develop the skills, knowledge and independence needed for future learning and successful transition into KS1. The curriculum is informed by the Development Matters, Early Learning Goals (ELGs), Equals Semi-Formal Curriculum, Play Matters, 1Decision and Plymouth Science.

This thematic curriculum promotes:
• Communication and Language Development through immersive play, core vocabulary, visual supports and structured interactions.
• Personal, Social and Emotional Development through relationship building, emotional literacy, self-regulation and confidence.
• Physical Development through sensory circuits, outdoor learning, fine and gross motor opportunities and movement-based learning.
• Literacy and Mathematics Foundations through meaningful practical experiences, stories, songs, phonics and hands on exploration.
• Understanding the World through community learning, science investigations, role play and real world experiences.
• Expressive Arts and Design through creativity, music, role play and imaginative opportunities.
The curriculum is designed to support pupils at differing developmental stages, including those working within Nursery developmental ranges, Reception expectations, and semi-formal pathways, ensuring progression is personalised whilst maintaining high aspirations for all learners
