A comprehensive 42-page visual resource for teaching electronic configuration at A-Level Chemistry.

The resource uses the Periodic Table to show how electron configurations develop systematically across the elements, connecting an element’s position in the Periodic Table with the s, p, d and f subshells.

Students are shown both electronic configurations and orbital-box diagrams, making the resource particularly useful for explaining:

the relationship between the Periodic Table and electronic structure
s, p, d and f subshells
orbital occupancy and electron spin
Hund’s Rule and the filling of degenerate orbitals
noble-gas shorthand notation
the progressive build-up of electronic configurations
transition-element configurations
the structure of the Periodic Table in terms of subshell filling

The sequence begins with hydrogen and helium and then builds progressively through the Periodic Table, allowing students to see the patterns rather than simply memorise individual configurations.

Ideal for A-Level Chemistry teaching, revision, independent study, classroom display or projection, and particularly useful when introducing electronic structure before ionisation energies, transition metals and related topics.

Suitable for AQA, OCR, Edexcel, WJEC and CCEA A-Level Chemistry.

I would list this on TES as Visual aid/Display, because its real strength is the progressive visual treatment rather than being a conventional worksheet.
