This FIVE lesson power point concludes the Stormzy ‘SUPERHEROES’ unit. It covers:

-Scaffold sheet with key IND/ AUD terms to stretch learners to the LV9/ support in all tasks.
-Ind V Mainstream record labels with audio/visual support.
-Infographic on Stormzy ownership and record label.
-Applying IND key terms to Stormzy/ revision resource.
-Application of Reception theory.
-Ownership and success through the years.
-THINK. PAIR. SHARE. Brainstorm around the image below who you think Stormzy’s audience is. Consider AOGRE in your response (Visual reveal).
-What is the impact of having Stormzy write, direct and star in the video for a song she wrote? Consider audience positioning, the construction of meaning and fandom in your response.
-Richard Dyer’s use of the star.
-An in-depth visual breakdown of key talking points in the website.
-Convergence and multi-platform
-The codes and conventions of websites and key talking points on Stormzy’s website.
-Pick and Mix theory and Active V Passive participation.
-Application of uses and gratifications to the msuic video for ‘Stormzy’
-In-depth one period task: We will now take a guided tour of the Official website for Stormzy.

Using the prompts on the sheet as well as all that we have covered in this power point, annotate the website with a consideration of:

INDUSTRY: How the artist/ record label makes money.

AUDIENCE: How differing audiences are engaged by the website.

For a LV9 response, be sure to use the next slide on Uses and Gratifications, to stretch your responses.

-Visual past exam question breakdown of the following question: 4. How do music websites enable the music industry to make money? Refer to the official Justin Bieber website or the official Stormzy website to support your points. [10]
