Earth Day Coloring Pages, 60 printable sheets showing a friendly planet surrounded by trees, seedlings, and flowers, made for the twenty second of April. Each design prints on its own sheet.

The Planet and Its Surroundings

The globe is drawn as a large circle with soft wavy landmasses spread across it, then given two dot eyes, a shallow smile, and pale round cheeks. What the planet does changes from page to page. On one sheet it holds a long stemmed flower out to the side. On another it wraps both arms around a heart and squeezes. Growing things fill the space beneath: trees with rounded canopies on short trunks, young seedlings pushing out of a strip of soil with two small leaves each, leafy branches lying loose across a corner. Above the globe you find rounded clouds, a sun with triangular rays and a face of its own, daisies, and four pointed sparkles. EARTH DAY sits at the top in hollow capitals, usually stacked across two lines.

Educational Benefits
  • Care for the environment becomes concrete when a child colors a planet being hugged.
    • Plant structure shows up in the seedlings, where stem, leaf, and soil are separate parts.
    • Continent shapes get a first look long before formal geography starts.
    • Steady hand work is needed along the wavy coastlines and thin stems.
    • Discussion starters appear on every page for a lesson about looking after the world.
Classroom and Home Uses
  • Print for Earth Day itself on April 22.
    • Pair with a tree planting or litter picking activity.
    • Use in a science unit on plants and growth.
    • Add to a spring nature study at home.
    • Display finished pages together as a green bulletin board.
    • Send home with a note about recycling at home.
    • Offer during a quiet reading block in April.
