These lessons enable students to describe the key events of the final year of the First World War and explain how the fortunes of the war changed in 1918. Students will then examine the key factors that contributed to German defeat before evaluating which factor was the most significant.

The lessons provides an effective conclusion to a unit on the First World War while introducing KS3 students to important historical context that will support their later GCSE studies of Weimar and Nazi Germany.
