Declarative and interrogative sentences worksheets for Year 2 to Year 4 (KS1-KS2, Grades 1-3): a 14-page A4 pack that teaches pupils to tell a statement from a question and use full stops and question marks correctly. All the activities have a pond and animal theme.

Pupils fix pond puzzles by changing full stops into question marks, take a quick question quiz, sort sentences into declarative (telling) and interrogative (asking), spot the statement with a detective turtle, complete question sentences starting with who, what, where, when, why and how, and write their own sentences about a dragonfly or a frog. A final tale-writer task asks them to write declarative sentences and one question about zoo animals. The pack ends with full answers.
