Teach person-centred continence care with this editable Care Ready Solutions awareness pack for adult health and social care educators and workplace trainers.

Five files included

  • 13-slide Continence Care Awareness course
  • 18-slide Trainer鈥檚 Edition with prompts, indicative answers and workbook links
  • 8-page learner workbook with activities, knowledge check and reflection
  • Extra 42-page Teacher and Trainer Toolkit
  • Separate editable certificate of completion template

All five files are editable PowerPoint (.pptx) resources. The toolkit is a generic set of blank forms to customise for session planning, attendance, assessment, feedback and learner records. It is not 42 pages of continence-specific lessons or completed clinical assessments. The certificate records completion; it does not confer accreditation or clinical competence.

Topics covered
Bladder and bowel function; stress, urge, overflow, functional and mixed incontinence; constipation; contributing factors; individual fluid plans and toilet access; professional assessment and diaries; assessed products; skin protection; dignity, consent, communication and escalation of new or urgent symptoms.

The Trainer鈥檚 Edition provides model responses, with the closing session at the end. The workbook supports reflection and discussion. Adapt local procedures, referral contacts and examples while retaining CRS branding. Reviewed against NHS and NICE guidance in November 2026; source links are in speaker notes.

Suitable use
Health and social care teaching, staff induction and awareness refreshers. Age not applicable. PowerPoint or compatible software is required. Digital teaching resources only; no delivered training or physical products.

Awareness learning does not authorise clinical procedures. Follow individual assessment, consent, current professional advice, applicable national law and local policy. Staff need role-specific training, competence assessment and employer authorisation for practical tasks. Follow prescribed fluid limits; never restrict drinks solely to avoid accidents.
