We hope these guide series help you plan your review/revision work. These are concise and precisely aligned with the updated syllabus. Many teachers have collaborated in making of these guides. If they are useful in your teaching, please consider leaving a review. It would truly be helpful for us to improve on the process of making. You can also explore other guides at the store.

This bundle includes all three components of Cambridge A Level Art & Design 9479 – AS and A Level.

Component 1: Portfolio (60% of AS / 30% of A Level) – 60 marks (weighted to 90). AO3 Develop (33% – highest). 4-phase planner (weeks 1-22). Areas of study: Fine Art, Graphic Communication, 3D Design, Textiles/Fashion, Photography. Annotation framework (process, evaluative, contextual). Visual language reference. Common mistakes and fixes. Grade boundaries: A* = ~54–60 marks.

Component 2: Externally Set Assignment (40% of AS / 20% of A Level) – 60 marks. Equal AO weighting (25% each). AO4 carries more weight than C1 – Final Outcome matters. 5-step theme investigation framework. Papers 21-25 with hour-by-hour test strategy, common traps, examiner tips. 8-hour timed test rules. Supporting Studies framework (7 stages). Generative AI policy explained.

Component 3: Personal Investigation (50% of A Level ONLY) – 75 marks (weighted to 150). A Level exclusive – not taken at AS. Integrated written discourse (2000–2500 words) + practical work. AO3 Develop (33% – 25 marks) highest. F.A.C.T. analysis framework (Formal elements, Artistic intention, Cultural context, Transformation of your practice). Specialist vocabulary required (chiaroscuro, typographic hierarchy, tensile structure, warp/weft, etc.). Bibliography mandatory. Analytical vs descriptive writing examples. 4-phase planner. Grade boundaries (weighted): A* = ~130–150.

Across all three guides: 5-level mark scheme decoded. Descriptor words explained (well considered, highly effective, perceptive, mature). How to move from Level 3 to Level 5. Primary research requirements (gallery visits, first-hand observation, local practitioners). Digital submission requirements. Annotation that evaluates, not describes. Before-submission checklists for each component.

Why this bundle works: Students move from AS Portfolio (building creative foundations) → ESA (focused theme response under time pressure) → A Level Personal Investigation (independent, written + practical integration). Clear progression through all three components.
