Bring Bonfire Night into your art lessons with this substantial KS2 Art & Creative Activities Pack, combining practical art projects, design work, 2D and 3D making, planning, evaluation and colouring activities.

The resource is designed as a flexible Bonfire Night / Guy Fawkes themed art unit. Pupils explore a range of techniques and materials while developing skills in colour, line, shape, texture, pattern, contrast, composition, collage, sculpture, construction and evaluation.

The pack contains 8 different creative projects, with four pages supporting each project: an introduction to the art or technique, step-by-step guidance, a planning/design sheet and a reflection/evaluation activity.

Activities include firework painting, chalk/pastel fireworks, skyline silhouettes, textured bonfire collage, mask design, radial firework patterns, 3D paper/card firework sculpture and paper lantern art. The lantern activity clearly specifies LED tealights only — no real flame.

A final set of 4 colouring and design sheets provides additional independent, early-finisher, homework or wet-play activities, including a detailed firework scene, Bonfire Night scene, design-your-own firework display and repeating pattern activity.

The resource includes teacher guidance, materials and preparation information, differentiation ideas and opportunities for pupils to plan, make and evaluate their own work. Optional materials are identified so teachers can adapt projects to the resources already available in school.

Suitable for: KS2 / Years 3–6, with activities easily adaptable for younger or older pupils.

Ideal for: Bonfire Night • Guy Fawkes Night • November art lessons • seasonal art • art clubs • classroom displays • cross-curricular topic work • supply/cover lessons.
