A Y9 French game designed to welcome students back to school, reactivate prior knowledge and highlight the value of languages in a range of careers

Students enter the selection process to join L’Agence francophone de renseignement, completing three challenges testing the qualities, experience and analytical skills of a secret agent. Once selected, they unlock their training across the French-speaking world to build their cultural knowledge.

Designed for Year 9 first lessons, retrieval and back-to-school activities, this resource combines grammar recall and reading comprehension with careers and cultural discovery. It is also particularly suitable for Year 9 options week.

This game is designed to be teacher-led, with optional pair discussion. Students can answer orally or record their responses in their books or on the optional answer sheet. Most classes will complete the activity in 30–35 minutes, giving you time to settle your classes and complete admin tasks before the game.
