Bring the fun of a traditional sweet shop into your EYFS and KS1 classroom with this resource. It includes a colourful sweet shop display featuring 12 sweet jars (6 on each shelf), duplicated in black and white for children to colour.
The sweet shop poster is ideal for discussions about favourite sweets, likes and dislikes, healthy eating, sugar content, estimating prices and simple class surveys. It also provides opportunities to develop observational skills, speaking and listening, vocabulary and early maths skills.
Three observation worksheets encourage children to answer questions using careful looking, counting, positional language and simple money knowledge. Each worksheet includes space for children to record their answers.
The final three pages contain black and white sweet jar templates with 12 jars, 3 jars and 1 large jar. Children can design their own sweets, invent sweet names, create patterns, sort sweets, write descriptions, add prices or use the jars for counting and creative writing activities.
A versatile, cross-curricular resource supporting Mathematics, English, Art and Design, Healthy Lifestyles, Food, Shopping, Speaking and Listening, making it ideal for classroom displays, independent work and small group activities.
