AQA English Literature A Level poetry Love Through the Ages comparisons lesson - a one hour lesson designed for KS5 students preparing for AQA Love Through The Ages (Paper 1, Spec A 7712) or for unseen poetry exam questions for any of the exam boards like Eduqas, Edexcel, OCR and WJEC.

The lesson explores the use of language and structure in William Shakespeare’s Sonnet 116 and Christina Rossetti’s Remember, and we draw comparisons between the writers’ messages, thoughts and feelings, and the methods they use to convey their perspectives on enduring love towards their readers.

Designed to support students in preparing for the Paper 1 Section C question, students go on to create detailed analytical paragraphs comparing the two poems, in preparation for them making links to the prose text they will be studying.

Designed for the A-level spec, it includes discussion questions and topics for students, as well as a range of activities.
