A scheme of work, targeted at KS3 that consists of three lessons on each of the following plays: A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet and Macbeth. Each lesson includes an extract for analysis and all resources/printouts are provided with the scheme. No play is studied in full but students learn an overview, key scenes and practise both extended and analytical writing. The assessment is creative-writing based but could easily be adapted for your school’s individual criteria.
