This Halloween-themed literacy and art resource includes a colour poster featuring: A Halloween Story and a black-and-white version for children to colour in and personalise.
The short, simple, friendly story links directly to the illustrated scene showing a witch with her black cat under the stars and moonlight, bats, spiders hanging from a spooky tree, a green-eyed owl and a bright orange pumpkin.
Children can enjoy listening to, or reading the story together, then use the drawing space to recreate or extend the scene in their own way. A story template is also included, encouraging children to draw and write their own Halloween stories, supporting creativity, imagination, and early writing skills.
This activity links to literacy, expressive arts and design, and understanding the world, particularly through learning about celebrations and festivals such as Halloween.
