This resource contains 36 colour weather symbol cards, using Boardmaker-licensed symbols, designed to support children with SEND through clear, visual learning.
The cards can be used on daily weather boards, during topics about weather and the seasons, and to help children learn, recognise and use new weather vocabulary.
They can also be copied, laminated and used to create simple matching or memory games.
For additional activities, children could sort the cards into groups such as hot/cold, wet/dry or by season, or use them as communication and sentence-building prompts, for example choosing symbols to complete phrases such as “Today it is…” or “In winter it is…”.
