Anxiety Monsters: Panic, “What If Worries, Catastrophising & Overthinking
120 playful activities for children aged 6–10

“What if nobody wants to be my friend?
“My heart is racing — is something wrong?
“One mistake, and everything is ruined!
“I can’t stop thinking about it…

Help children explore these experiences through five dice games, four memorable characters and small, supported steps.

What does this kit focus on?

Panic and frightening body sensations
Noticing a racing heart, tension or an urge to escape; practising how to ask for support and choose what might help.

“What if worries and uncertainty
Worrying before a test, a school trip or a new club; wondering whether others will want to be friends. Children explore what they know, what they are imagining and what they could do next.

Catastrophising and fear of mistakes
Feeling that a bad mark, forgotten schoolwork or spilt paint means everything is ruined. Tasks encourage children to put problems into perspective and explore possible solutions.

Overthinking and repetitive thoughts
Thoughts that keep returning during lessons or before sleep. Children practise noticing the loop, sharing a worry and choosing a manageable action or source of support.

Inside the pack:

  • 5 dice games with 120 tasks.
  • A cooperative 24-space board game for 2–6 players.
  • 12 support cards, counters and a “My Backpackâ€ sheet.
  • Choice cards, a body map and feelings scales.
  • A small-steps staircase with an example and a personal planning sheet.
  • A support plan, a tracker of tries and a certificate.
  • A separate adult guide with practical explanations, sample conversations and playful exercises.
  • Answers and explanations for 24 “True, Myth or It Depends?â€ statements.

Simple to start, flexible to use

Roll the die, choose a monster and explore a task together. Children can talk, draw, move or answer about a made-up character. Humour and imagination make room for conversations that can otherwise feel difficult.

Every try counts. Stars recognise participation, a small action or asking for help. Children can take a pause or finish after one task.

Ages 6–10
For parents, teachers and psychologists — at home, in individual sessions or in groups.
Suggested sessions: 10–20 minutes, guided by the child’s needs.

Colour and printer-friendly black-and-white versions.
12 files: print-ready PDFs and editable Word documents.
All materials in English.

The monsters are playful characters for exploring worry. The pack is a supportive educational resource, not a diagnostic tool.

Print, grab a die and help a child discover: “When I feel worried, I can ask for support and take one small step.
