This SOW is an introduction to creating movement. This SOW has 6 lessons to it exploring how to create choreography using the basic movement actions. Lesson 1 - Introduction to safety in the dance studio and warming up. Lesson 2 - In this lesson students will learn the basic actions. Lesson 3 - In this lesson students will create their own choreography using the basic movement actions. Lesson 4 - In this lesson students will identify what a balance and counterbalance is and apply these to their choreography. Lesson 5 - In this lesson students will identify what the 5 basic jumps are in dance and create their own jumping sequence. Lesson 6 - In this lesson students are given an assessment task to complete as well as receive teacher feedback. There are homeworks provided in the PowerPoints. There is also a booklet provided where they will complete tasks during lesson time and homework tasks. Also, there learning sheets for any students who cannot complete practical tasks.
