This is a key front‑facing role, supporting families from first enquiry through to joining the school, and ensuring every parent receives a professional, personalised and memorable experience.

The Role

Working closely with the Admissions Manager, you will:

  • Manage enquiries efficiently and professionally, ensuring every family receives timely, accurate information.

  • Build rapport with prospective parents and pupils, tailoring tours and conversations to their needs and interests.

  • Coordinate 1:1 and group tours, supporting families throughout their visit and post‑tour follow‑up.

  • Maintain accurate data and records across admissions systems.

  • Support the organisation of recruitment, assessment and taster events.

  • Ensure all required documentation is collected and processed in line with school and regulatory requirements.

  • Provide excellent customer service at every stage of the admissions journey.

About You

We are looking for someone who brings:

  • A warm, confident and professional manner.

  • Strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

  • The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

  • Confident use of IT systems and Microsoft Office.

  • Experience in a customer‑facing, data‑driven or sales‑oriented role.

Experience working in a school environment or with admissions systems (e.g., MS Dynamics, iSAMs) would be an advantage.

Why Join Akeley Wood School?

You will be part of a supportive, high‑performing team who take pride in delivering exceptional experiences for families. This is a rewarding role where your work directly shapes the first impressions and future journeys of our pupils.

Welcome

Akeley Wood School is an independent co-educational day school for 700 children aged 12 months to 18 years, across two beautiful campuses in North Buckinghamshire and South Northamptonshire. Wicken Park is home to our Nursery, Prep School and Sixth Form students, while Akeley Wood House accommodates our Senior School pupils aged 11–16.

The School’s primary aim is that pupils should develop their individual talents and personal qualities in whatever direction they may lie, although we do place a particular emphasis on the best possible academic achievement. Most importantly, we hope that pupils will genuinely enjoy and value their time here and will take with them not only the best possible qualifications, but also a sense of purpose, a belief in themselves, firm friendships and a caring attitude towards those around them.

Akeley Wood has a long tradition, but a direction that looks to the future, preparing young people for life in the twenty-first century. It offers a friendly and purposeful environment, with small classes and enthusiastic teaching, where good habits of work and independence of mind can flourish. It is a school without pretension, but with a happy and civilized atmosphere and a demonstrable record of success.
