Winnie Witch has a problem. Her broom is old, wonky and slower than a snail wearing slippers. As a result, she’s late for everything: stirring her cauldron, frightening children, collecting her cat and even attending the annual Witches’ Convention.

Enough is enough. Winnie buys a brand-new, super-powered broom called the ZOOM BROOM!

Suddenly, she can travel anywhere in seconds. She becomes the fastest witch in the world. But there’s a catch. She’s travelling so quickly that she misses everything: the jokes, the friendships, the beautiful things around her and the people who simply want to say hello.

WINNIE WITCH - A dramatic, slightly chaotic witch with a very big personality.
OLD BROOM - A creaky, stubborn broom. Can be played by an actor holding a broom or by a physical-theatre performer.
SHOPKEEPER - A magical salesman who is far too enthusiastic about his products.
SPARKLES - Winnie’s cat. Sassy, sleepy and unimpressed.
NARRATOR 1 and NARRATOR 2 - Guide the story and interact with the audience.
CHILDREN - A group of children who are supposed to be scared by Winnie.
VILLAGERS - People Winnie meets along the way, including a flower seller, a friend, a musician and a little child.
WITCHES’ CONVENTION HOST - A very serious witch with an important announcement.
