Final writing outcome

An extended adventure narrative set in ancient Sri Lanka, in which the protagonist faces a dangerous obstacle and must rely on friendship and loyalty to survive. Includes expanded noun phrases to evoke the lush jungle setting, relative clauses to add dramatic detail about characters and events, and inverted commas to punctuate tense dialogue between characters.

Grammar features (Year 4 NC-aligned)
  • Expanded noun phrases (Year 3–4 NC: using noun phrases expanded by modifying adjectives, nouns and prepositional phrases).
  • Relative clauses (Year 5–6 NC introduced early for Year 4 challenge: using who, which, where, whose, that to add detail about nouns).
