A practical, 2-hour CPD course applying core safeguarding principles specifically to outdoor, off-site, and residential learning contexts, where usual lines of sight and familiar routines don’t always apply. Across 6 modules, you’ll cover outdoor-specific risks including remote locations, transport, and external providers, safer working practice for 1:1 situations and photography, and how signs of harm can present differently outdoors.

The course also covers golden rules for responding to a disclosure while off-site, reporting procedures, vetting external providers and volunteers, and building a safeguarding-aware outdoor learning policy. A full reflection worksheet is included.

Written by a qualified teacher (Cert Ed) with over 10 years’ experience across further education, SEND provision and pastoral care.

Ideal for: Designated Safeguarding Leads, outdoor learning coordinators, educational visit leads, or whole-staff INSET training.
