This engaging series of slides is based on the inhabitants of the Creswell Crags prehistoric caves complex in Nottinghamshire. There are 3 stages within the Ice Age occupation that are illustrated – A Neanderthal family living in the caves around 60,000 years ago, Ice Age artist family living around 15,000 years ago and a post-ice age family as the weather warms and they explore the forests around the caves around 12-10,000 years ago. Each diary entry details life during that period of time including clothing, diet and family dynamics. There is also a slide following each period that shows the real life archaeological evidence that has informed the diary entry. The caves are home to many pieces of archaeological evidence that show the life and times of people and animals throughout the ice age. The final slide details how to find the caves and their website for further research or to book a visit.
