This is the ninth lesson from the unit of work examining the whole of the Tudor period and focusing on the second order concepts of cause and consequence. The unit contains 12 lessons each of which focus on a different cause of religious turmoil in the Tudor period e.g. corruption in the Medieval Church, Henry VIII’s desire for a son, Mary I’s desire to restore Catholicism.

The assessment requires students to write 3 PEEL paragraphs explaining what they consider to be the most important causes contributing to the rollercoaster. This is in preparation for 12 mark causation questions at GCSE.

This resource contains the sixth lesson which examines Mary I’s brutal treatment of the Protestants including the Oxford Martyrs.

1 hour plus homework.
