This French Canadian Provinces Trivia game is a fun way to get your students using their French and learning about Canada at the same time!

Use all 120 trivia cards at once for a longer activity or break it up into chunks for certain units!

(For example, for my Québec unit, I only choose the Québec cards + a couple other provinces to play games like “Québec ou pas?”)

All 10 provinces are represented here and the trivia ranges from where certain Canadian cities are located to fun facts about the things grown in the provinces, landmarks, and natural elements!

*Each province has 12 trivia cards with answers on the back. There are 30 pages of cards (30 pages x 4 cards per page = 120 cards).

I would recommend this for grade 7 immersion or higher.

HOW TO USE:

I usually use this game in one of two ways:

1. I fold the cards in half, laminate them, and then students can play in small groups because they have the answers on the back. I let them keep score on their own and they play in groups of 4-5.

2. I divide the class into small groups (4-5), put half of the cards on a Powerpoint (or just read out the clues) and students decide in their groups what the answer is. They answer as a group and I keep score on the board. This whole-class activity brings out some added discussion and the students’ competitive sides!
