A fully resourced GCSE RE AQA Paper 1 final revision lesson covering Christian Beliefs and Christian Practices, designed to support mixed‑ability
Year 11 classes in the** final stages of exam preparation**.

This lesson revises Creation, the Afterlife, Salvation, Worship, Sacraments and the Role of the Church, with a strong focus on different Christian beliefs, as required by the AQA specification. Pupils explore literal and liberal views of creation, beliefs about judgement, heaven, hell and purgatory, contrasting views on salvation, and different understandings of worship and the Church’s role in the world today.

Exam‑style 6‑mark questions are embedded throughout the lesson, with modelling, sentence starters and carefully structured explanations to support confident written responses. Stretch opportunities (such as the role of the Trinity in creation, minority Christian views, and Quaker beliefs) provide challenge for higher‑attaining pupils, while clear explanations ensure accessibility for all learners.

This resource works well as a final Paper 1 revision lesson, intervention session, or extended recap, and is particularly useful where classes contain a wide range of attainment levels. Teacher guidance is included throughout to support confident delivery and exam‑focused teaching.

This went really well with my Yr11 class, who have 3 lessons left until their first exam. It helped those who are struggling to grasp basic concepts, whilst also stretching those aiming for grade 8+9.
