This is an A3 size infographic representing the latest research regarding Giraffe taxonomy. It can be used to provide an interesting discussion point for the question of what constitutes a species and is useful as a modern example of speciation. It also effectively demonstrates the fluidity of taxonomy over time especially when DNA evidence is considered.

Each species/subspecies is represented by a high quality natural history illustration. Pupils can compare the coat patterns of all the giraffes and see their approximate distribution on a colour coded map of Africa.
