This autumn themed phonics activity includes 36 full acorns for children to print, cut and match. Each acorn is split into two parts. The top shows a 4 sound or 5 sound word and the bottom shows the matching picture. Children match the halves to practise CVCC and CCVCCC words in a hands on, playful way.

Little explorers can go on an acorn hunt, finding the right top and bottom to build each word. It is a simple, low prep activity that fits easily into continuous provision and helps children blend, segment and recognise words while enjoying an autumn themed challenge.

Perfect for:

  • 4 sound and 5 sound word practice
  • CVCC and CCVCCC phonics
  • Blending and segmenting
  • Independent autumn themed challenges
  • Continuous provision
  • Fine motor snipping and matching
  • EYFS and KS1 phonics

A lovely autumn activity that brings word building to life. Just print, snip and let children enjoy their acorn matching adventure.
