Previous lesson: 9.1. Seasons: I like summer!

This lesson “Weather” 's main focus is to teach vocabulary related to the seasons and the weather: rainy, sunny, windy and snowy. The main grammar point is to use the third person with it of the present simple to talk about weather: It’s summer, it’s sunny. It’s winter, it’s snowy. It is meant to last about 40-60 minutes and there are side notes under each slide of the PPT with teacher directions just in case you need them. It is meant to be used on POWERPOINT

This Lesson is part of a bigger unit:

Unit 9 is centered on the seasons, weather, some clothes and the verbs wear and like and other basic language forms for ESL young learners that are starting to learn English and this is their first contact with it.

Lesson 1 includes:

Warm up section, in this case a “weather” song and revision of the winter and summer vocab.
Vocabulary: sunny, rainy, snowy and windy.
Key sentences: What’s the weather like? It’s sunny today!
Practice: activities for students to use the target language they have just learned.
Drilling: activities where they will drill the words and the pronunciation.
Games: to practice the language in a fun way
Revision: a slide to review the words and key sentences.
Goodbye: weather song
Extra: some extra activities included related to the topic.
Homework: includes a short activity for the student to complete.
