These sweet foldouts are a fun and hands-on way for pupils to show and express the things they love! This activity can be used at any time of year but is particularly suitable for a Valentine鈥檚 Day writing craft for key stage 1.

Pupils will colour a heart and use the boxes on the template to write/draw the things they love. They鈥檒l then cut, glue (for some templates), and fold.

The templates

There are similar template options to allow you to choose the one that best suits you and your learners.

  • Template 1: Children colour the heart, add 4 things they love in the blank boxes, cut, and fold.
  • Template 2: As above but with grey boxes to draw in, and lines for writing.
  • Template 3: Larger version of template 1.
  • Template 4: Larger version of template 2.
  • Template 5: Children colour the heart, add 6 things they love in the blank boxes, cut, glue the heart to the template, and fold.
  • Template 6: Same as template 5 but with a writing line in each of the 6 boxes.

A picture showing where to fold is included.
