Read and Colour: Winter is a set of reading comprehension colouring worksheets for Reception to Year 2 (EYFS-KS1), ages 5-7. Children read the colour clues, then show what they understood by colouring winter pictures.

There are 24 activities in 3 reading levels, so it is easy to differentiate: words and phrases, simple sentences, then short stories with a question. The pictures include hats, mittens, snowmen, cosy cabins and sleds. Every page asks for one colour word to be written, which gives early writing practice alongside reading comprehension. The ink-friendly black and white pages print cheaply.

What is included (30 pages, black and white)

  • Cover and a short guide for grown-ups
  • Level 1: 8 activities with words and phrases (three short colour clues)
  • Level 2: 8 activities with sentences (four direct instructions)
  • Level 3: 8 short stories with colour clues and a question
  • A colour word to write on every page
  • Answer keys for all 24 activities

All colouring spaces are blank: children add the colours.
