My Toys Alphabet Book with Symbols is an alphabet resource for SEND children that supports early reading, writing, letter recognition, vocabulary development and pencil control. It links to topics on Toys and Ourselves and is also suitable for EYFS and KS1.
The book includes both colour and black-and-white pages. Most pages feature three letters of the alphabet with matching toy-themed words, symbols, letter-tracing activities, word tracing and pictures to colour.
A separate Symbols Page is included in both colour and black and white, featuring all of the symbols used throughout the book. This can be used for reference, matching, sorting and discussion activities.
The colour pages can be laminated and bound to create a reusable book for reading corners, writing areas and literacy provision. Children can use dry-wipe markers to trace letters, words and symbols. The black-and-white pages provide additional opportunities for colouring, handwriting practice and independent work.
