L8 of the scheme of learning - Britain and the slave trade

This lesson focuses on Liverpool as a case study in the slave trade. The lesson begins with an image starter of buildings with links to the slave trade, leading to a video focusing on the benefits and negatives for Liverpool. Students then use sources to create a table showing the benefits and limitations of Liverpool鈥檚 involvement, leading to a guided reading task on the impact of slavery around Liverpool - in this instance in St Helens. Finally, students complete a recap plenary.
