KS3 Year 7 & 8 Science - How to Revise Session 1 (Narrative Story/Flashcards)

Help your Year 7 & 8 students develop effective revision habits with this fully activity-based How to Revise lesson, introducing students to Narrative Stories and Flashcards as practical revision techniques.

The lesson is designed to teach students how to revise effectively, rather than simply telling them to revise. Students are guided through activities that demonstrate how memory works and how they can use different strategies to make scientific information more memorable.

Students will:

  • Explore Narrative Story as a revision technique.
  • Learn how to create and use effective flashcards.
  • Complete a revision timetable to help organise their independent revision.
  • Take part in a revision game that can be used with friends, classmates or family at home.
  • Use a RAG progress check to identify strengths and revision priorities.
  • Begin developing independent revision habits that can be used across their KS3 Science topics.
