A collection of literacy genres that are linked to a historic event with a KS1 and KS2 version in the download. This set are linked to the Spanish Armada. There is a narrative of the event, a diary from the perspective of Queen Elizabeth I reflecting on her victory, a newspaper article from The Tudor Herald sensationalising the victory, a letter from Elizabeth to her Naval Commander inspiring him on the eve of battle and a set of linked instructions. They can be used within literacy lessons as an example of genres or within a history topic to consider the thoughts and feelings of some of the main characters.
