Genuinely engaging texts about Japan which are suitable for GCSE students.

One of the texts is an encounter of Japanese Samurai in the 1850s by American trade dignitaries.

The second is Tarou: The 12-Year-Old Professional Gamer.

There is a powerpoint with scaffolds to help students structure their work and my answers in separate documents as well as the texts.

These are interesting texts for teenagers, many of whom find these topics more engaging than other resources from the awarding bodies.
