A 6 - 8 week unit of work on Greta Gerwig鈥檚 2019 film adaptation of Little Women. Introduces and analyses media techniques such as camera angles and mise-en-scene and also looks at characterisation, plot and theme. The unit focuses a lot on group discussion and the unit outcome can be a group presentation or a critical essay. (or both!)

Critical essay is based on a National 5 outcome and is very supported and scaffolded. I did this with two middle set S3 classes and the essays they produced were of a high standard.

Includes:

  • Powerpoint Lesson Slides with 128 slides
  • A complete workbook that supports the slides
  • Scene Analysis worksheet
  • Booklet designed to support the planning of a critical essay
  • Critical essay sentence starters
