I have put together this work pack for students in Key Stage 3 to fit in with the 2026 Football World Cup which starts next week. I’m hoping it might keep some of those tricky Year 9 students engaged as we approach the end of term, as well as keeping the challenge there for those who are continuing with it.

I’ve given it a French flavour by only focussing on France and the other Francophone countries that are participating -(quite a lot this year!) - as well as well-known French-speaking players.

There is a range of activities, from very straightforward to more challenging and open-ended, which are indicated along the way. I’ve also included a task where students have to write their opinion of the France team’s World Cup song. Hopefully there’s something for everyone.
