A short, explicit spelling intervention for teaching learners to spell all seven days of the week accurately and independently.

Rather than treating each day name as a separate word to memorise, this resource teaches learners to recognise the stable <day> element and focus on the distinctive spelling at the beginning of each word.

The unit combines phonology, orthography, word structure, multisensory practice, retrieval and selected word-origin cues to support accurate spelling and retention.

The unit explicitly teaches
Monday — Mon + day
Tuesday — Tues + day
Wednesday — Wednes + day
Thursday — Thurs + day
Friday — Fri + day
Saturday — Satur + day
Sunday — Sun + day

Learners identify the less predictable “heart” parts, practice these through tracing and explicit attention, then write each word from memory rather than copying from a model.
