Post-Easter Maths Investigation – Chocolate Company Profits (Year 5/6)

This engaging post-Easter maths investigation allows pupils to explore profit, money and data handling through a real-world business scenario.

Pupils take on the role of financial analysts for Sweet Treats Ltd, a chocolate company that sells Easter eggs to shops. Using sales data, they calculate profits, analyse results and present information using graphs.

This activity works particularly well after the Easter holidays, when pupils can reflect on the large number of Easter eggs sold during the Easter period.

The investigation encourages pupils to apply their understanding of money, multiplication and statistics while solving problems in a meaningful real-life context.
