Two print-and-play Parliament snakes and ladders games for KS3 and GCSE Citizenship: a green House of Commons board and a red House of Lords board, with 64 question cards.

Commons board: follows an MP鈥檚 career from party candidate to Prime Minister. Ladders reward good conduct (a great maiden speech, fixing a local problem, a Private Member鈥檚 Bill becoming law); snakes punish scandals and mistakes (defying a three-line whip, fiddling expenses, breaking the Ministerial Code).

Lords board: follows a bill through the House of Lords from First Reading to Royal Assent, with every stage marked on the board. Ladders include the Salisbury Convention and cross-party support; snakes include badly drafted bills, government defeats on amendments and ping-pong.

What鈥檚 included (16-page PDF):

  • Teacher notes: rules, a 50-60 minute lesson plan, answers and curriculum links
  • Commons board and Lords board (A3, full colour)
  • Low-ink black and white versions of both boards
  • 64 question cards: 16 KS3 and 16 KS4 cards for each House, with answers printed upside-down so pupils can self-check
  • Cut-out MP and peer counters and two foldable dice, so no extra equipment is needed
  • A follow-up worksheet for each board, including a KS4 extended-answer question

Ideal for teaching how Parliament works, the roles of the Commons and Lords, how laws are made and how MPs are held to account. Works as a lesson, a revision activity or an end-of-term game.
