Two spot-the-match Parliament card games for KS3 and GCSE Citizenship: Commons Cobble Cards (green) and Lucky Lords (red). Any two cards in a deck share exactly one symbol. Pupils race to spot it and say its name, learning Parliament’s key vocabulary as they play.

What’s included (26-page PDF):

  • Commons Cobble Cards: 57 round cards, 8 symbols each (MP, Speaker, Mace, Whip, PMQs, Despatch Box, Aye Lobby, Constituency, Manifesto, First Past the Post and more)
  • Lucky Lords: 57 round cards, 8 symbols each (Woolsack, Black Rod, Ermine Robe, Crossbencher, Salisbury Convention, Ping-pong, Content Lobby, Parliament Acts and more)
  • 12 shared symbols marked with a gold star that appear in both decks (the King, Bill, Royal Assent, Hansard, Portcullis…)
  • Every symbol is an illustrated icon with its name underneath
  • Symbol glossary sheets explaining all 102 symbols, which double as a reference mat while playing
  • Teacher notes with six ways to play (The Tower, The Well, Hot Potato, Explain it! for KS4, Which House? using both decks, and a sentence-writing starter), a lesson plan, answers and curriculum links
  • A follow-up worksheet: sort symbols into a Commons / Lords / Both Venn diagram, plus written and KS4 extended questions

Up to date for 2026, including the removal of hereditary peers from the House of Lords.

Print in colour on A4 card and laminate for a set that lasts for years. Ideal for starters, revision, end-of-term lessons and Parliament Week.
