This resource for Primary or Elementary students fits into a Geography or Social Studies class and introduces mangrove forests. It guides students through recognizing a mangrove forest and its distinction in that it grows in sea water. There are facts about the benefits of mangrove forests. Activities include a cloze, or gap fill, with a word bank, to check learning and comprehension of the advantages of mangrove forests. There’s a simple drawing activity of a mangrove tree followed by a labelling task. Lastly there’s a writing exercise with sentence starters for what students have remembered.
