KS3 History

Enquiry - Did the Normans bring a truckload of trouble?

Fourth lesson in the EQ looking at the Norman Conquest and it鈥檚 impact on England, working through the lens of the Schama interpretation.

This lesson introduces the Norman Motte & Bailey (and later stone castles) to look at two historical interpretations about the use of castles over time. They look at key features of the M&B alonside primary sources of Norman castles.

Students look at the interpretations, summarising the views and which they believe is more accurate.

Rich lesson to start the unit for Year 7.
