This narrated video (MP4) describes the need for Global Car Recycling Day and what it means to recycle cars responsibly. It is aimed at KS3, KS4 and KS5 pupils as either a lesson resource, an assembly, a registration task or tutor activity. It is an engaging video describing why it is important to recycle cars, how responsible car recycling protects the environment and how pupils can help this important campaign. (This is the extended version of the KS3/KS4 video with additional information on global relevance and vehicle manufacturer responsibility.) There are lots of other supporting resources available related to this video - a follow up power point presentation and activity worksheets and discussion points. The topics covered work as a standalone issue for PSHCE or enrichment but the main topics of recycling, environmental protection and circular economy also link in with the sciences, geography, economics and business. The video is 7 minutes, 24 seconds long and concludes by thanking the pupils for watching and commenting that some of them may end up working in the automotive industry. Please note the uploaded video is lower quality as the upload file limit was 200MB - you can stream the HD version via the You Tube link.
