Language : French.

Topic : Describing appearance (neck upwards : hair, eyes etc).

Skills : reading, speaking (with possible writing extension).

Format : Powerpoint (32 slides, 31 images).

Type of Exercise : Learners read aloud the four correct sentences from the five options each time (or, alternatively, read aloud the incorrect option).

Level : first year of learning French upwards.

Content : vocabulary to cover hair colour/texture length; eyes; piercings; tattoos; scars; spots; beards, moustaches.

Answers provided (click on the question-mark to see ‘odd-one-out’).

Match-up vocabulary warm-up task (answers provided).

(Faces are deliberately hand-drawn naively (by me) so as - hopefully - to engender a bit of fun during the activity.)

The version of the Powerpoint without answers could be used as an extension task (perhaps for homework for consolidation purposes). Learners could write out (and translate) the expressions which do not go with the images.
