The Charles Darwin Handout provides pupils with an informative introduction to the life, work and scientific ideas of Charles Darwin. It explains Darwin鈥檚 early interest in nature, his studies at Edinburgh and Cambridge, and his famous five-year voyage on HMS Beagle.

The handout explores Darwin鈥檚 observations of wildlife and fossils, the development of his theory of natural selection in 1838, his work alongside Alfred Russel Wallace, and the publication of On the Origin of Species in 1859.

It also covers Darwin鈥檚 later work, including The Descent of Man, his research into plants and earthworms, his death in 1882, and his burial in Westminster Abbey.
