Practise Year 2 money skills within 100p: make amounts, compare coin combinations and find change from £1 with worked examples and activities.

WHAT IS INCLUDED
• Labelled money-value counters.
• Worked examples for counting amounts and finding change.
• Eight activity pages.
• A four-question informal check.
• Teacher answers.
• A reusable partner-shop mat.

SKILLS COVERED
Find totals, make the same amount using different coin combinations, calculate change, spot errors and plan purchases within 100 pence.

Includes finding change from £1.

HOW TO USE
Begin with the worked examples, then select activities according to pupils’ taught skills. Use the partner-shop mat for paired practice with the labelled counters or classroom coins.

Discuss pupils’ methods and use the short check to identify skills that need further teaching or practice.

SUITABILITY
Designed for Year 2 pupils, typically aged 6–7. Uses British currency.

The printed circles represent money values; they are not realistic coin images. Use classroom coins when teaching pupils to recognise physical coins. Prices are invented for learning.

The check is an informal classroom activity, not a standardised assessment.

FORMAT
18 pages in total, including the cover, teacher guidance and answers. Printable A4 PDF in British English. Not editable.

The preview contains selected sample pages. No external paid resources are required.
