Ideology and Science is the 7th topic which is part of the unit on Beliefs in Society. There are 2 parts to this topic:

7.a) Science as a belief system (Part 1)
7.b) Ideology (Part 2) - available in the shop

This is an interactive lesson, with opportunities for paired/group activities. To help students further engage with the topic, there are contemporary videos and reading materials included. There is also exam practice at the end to allow students to apply their knowledge and skills.

Lesson objectives:
• To understand the difference between the open and closed belief systems.
• To understand the different views on science as a belief system.

This lesson is delivered part of the wider scheme of work for Beliefs in Society, it would follow on from L6.c) Religiosity and social groups, which is available as individual lessons or as a discounted bundle in the shop!

To continue the scheme of work students can practice their exam skills by using the complete Beliefs in Society Workbook, which is also available in our shop.
