Take a little trip around Thailand while practicing vocabulary with this fun Thailand Tic-Tac-Toe game!
This resource was created by a teacher who has lived in Thailand for many years and has selected a collection of iconic objects, animals, foods, and cultural images that are strongly associated with Thailand. The goal is to give students a fun and accessible way to explore Thailand while developing their language skills.
Each square features a colourful image alongside the English and Thai words, allowing the activity to be used in a variety of language-learning settings.
How to Play
Students play in pairs. Players take turns choosing a square.
Before claiming a square, the student should:

  1. Look at the picture.
  2. Say the word in English, Thai, or both languages.
  3. Write an X or O in the square.
  4. Try to get three in a row—across, down, or diagonally!
The first player to get three in a row is the winner!
    English & Thai Language Practice
One of the great features of this resource is that it can be used for English language practice, Thai language practice, or both together.
Teachers can choose the approach that works best for their students:
    • English only – Students say the English word.
    • Thai only – Students practice the Thai vocabulary.
    • Both languages – Students say the English word followed by the Thai word.
    • Translation practice – The teacher says one language and students give the other.
This makes the game particularly useful for bilingual classrooms, ESL/EFL learners, Thai learners, international schools, and students learning about Thailand.
