This Spring Weather Word Mats resource has been designed for EYFS and KS1 children to support early vocabulary, writing, speaking and listening. There are 3 colour and 3 black and white versions of the mats.
Each mat includes child-friendly words and pictures linked to spring weather, the changing seasons and the world around us.
The colour versions can be laminated and used in the writing area, weather station, role-play area or during whole-class discussions.
Each mat is also recreated in black and white so children can colour, decorate and personalise their own copy.
Children can use the word mats to help them write about the weather, describe what they see outside, talk about seasonal changes and develop confidence using new vocabulary.
The resource also supports discussion, observation skills and simple sentence writing linked to spring.
